My Affiliate Marketing Journey

Yesterday while delivering affiliate marketing classroom training to our Larn2Earn online batch, one of the participant asked me to narrate my affiliate marketing journey. I thought I have to put one small blog on my affiliate marketing journey & here are some of the throwbacks.

It was 2008, when I have started my affiliate marketing journey. My first Job after completing MBA, as I have joined Hexpress as an affiliate marketing executive for their online pharmacy & lifestyle medication business. Mr Shantanu Karmarker was my boss; he taught me a, b, c of affiliate marketing & shawn Collins of affiliate tips was my online resource to learn affiliate marketing.  

I have learned how to reached out potentials affiliates, how to track affiliate sales, how to manage affiliate pay-outs on affiliate tracking software at my full time job for EuroClinix. Simultaneously I have started creating blogs on blogger & wordpress flatform. Through my affiliate marketing job I have understood which affiliate program to join, what content & offer need to put on blogs etc.

After online pharmacy I have joined online Poker & Casino company , where I was responsible to promote poker affiliate program, that was perfect opportunity for me to hone 360* affiliate marketing skill sets. By the time 2010 I have created more than 10 blogs for pharma & poker affiliate program, my first earning was 120 pound, which encourages me to invest more time to learn more affiliate marketing tactics. As I have moved from my poker affiliate job to Indian BFSI, I have exposed to different affiliate marketing world, were entire affiliate marketing industry run on data marketing. By 2012 all my leading European language domain has come down in the Google natural ranking due to EMD updates. Till time I have manged to earned 28,000 GBP through different affiliate program. 

When I have decided to start my new business in 2014, I have re-initiated my affiliate marketing activity, this time I have decided to start with BFSI affiliate program and Google AdSense, here are some of my earnings from 2016.

Understanding Different MLM Business Plans

It’s been long time I have not manage to put any blog here at Digital Hawk. Since last quarter we have got chance to work with one the Leading MLM software Company, Ventaforec to improve their organic ranking.  MLM business in new to me, while working on affiliate marketing since last 12 years, somehow I have started getting some basic understanding about MLM business. With this post I have tried to put some basic MLM plans information. 

Those intending to start an MLM business should ideally start off by acquainting themselves with the best MLM plans in the market. After all, Multi-Level Marketing plans are pretty much the whole and sole of a direct selling business. 3. Board Plan: Board plan works in a rectangular format similar to a board. When a new member joins the network, he is placed in the first board or Feeder Board that follows a 1-2-4 or 1-2-4-8 structure. On completion of the chain in the Feeder, the member moves to the second board or the Main board, where he earns himself the due commission. 
4. Generation Plan: This is considered to be the strongest plan for compensation and earnings in MLM. In the Generation Plan, all the directs of the sponsor are considered on the same level regardless of their entry in the business. 
5. Hybrid Plan: As the name suggests, Hybrid incorporate the features of two or more MLM plans into a singular and exhaustive new plan. Over the years, a number of direct selling companies are playing smart by incorporating the best of MLM features across plans..
6. Differential Plan: In the Differential Plan, income is basically the gap between the amount that one qualifies to ean for himself and that which is earned by his down lines. This plan takes the PV/BV(Personal Value/Business Volume) aspects into consideration and is ideally suitable for Product selling companies. 

MLM Software is playing very important role in the success of MLM or direct selling business. We have to consider all facet before buying MLM Software.  

Integrated Marketing Channel for E Commerce Business

Indian e commerce industry have sense the brightest future ahead. Lot of new online e commerce business models has been entered into an Internet forays, I don’t blame them but the waves seems like tsunami. Most of the online business models entrepreneur do not make their home work properly and dive in a foray with out analyzing type of revenue generation channel available online and offline for them. 

I wouldn't like to criticize their business ideas or haven't a question mark against their faith on business offerings. But they need to understand how to promote their business online for targeted ROI by the help of Integrated Marketing Channel. IMC includes the coordination and integration of all marketing communication tools, avenues, and sources into a seamless program in order to maximize the impact on end users at a minimal cost.

New dot com’s have been producing just number of clicks by PPC to convince their Venture Capitalist for more funding. Have they bother about ROI or they just want a instant buzz around their BABY BRAND, god knows better. I have researched on top 5 Indian e commerce sites and 5 new e commerce business models and their integrated marketing spending. 

 

The above analysis shows that, Indian e commerce business hardly bother about affiliate marketing, organic search and social media. Situation is more worse for new e commerce businesses. One of my best friend, has been managing more than 25 best e commerce paid search account. I was shocked when I come to know that  most of the e commerce business spends millions just for producing odd number of clicks. Most of the account manager fool around their organizations or entrepreneur’s do not want to analyze integrated marketing channel further more.

An Ideal integrated marketing channel for any e commerce business model applicable for Indian context should be like this one.

The balancing act between integrated marketing channel provide you the best conversion with maximum ROI. Online business entrepreneur in India must take Affiliate Marketing and Social Media Marketing Channel seriously. Being an online business entrepreneur you should need to analyze your online business model life cycle and applicable integrated marketing channel efficiently.
